Top 5 Trending Dating Websites

Bumble:

Shifting outdated heterosexual power dynamics, Bumble revolves around women making the first move once a match is made with the opposite sex. This match could be from a Bumble Date, Bizz, or BFF; but if the match does not respond within 24 hours, he loses his potential lady. Bumble Date stands for relationships beginning with respect and equality. Bumble Bizz allows people to find new job connections with professionals willing to share, learn, and network. Bumble BFF is useful for people finding themselves in a new location or looking to expand their circle of meaningful friendships through a supportive community. Bumble leans more towards spur-in-the-moment hookups with limited browsing time. With women taking the lead, there is less room for unconfident men to be found on the site.

eHarmony:

eHarmony was one of the first online dating sites which has won awards for being the best site to find stable relationships; majority of which end in marriage. Users complete an extensive survey once signing up which enters into a “compatible matching system”. The information entered by users is used by the site to find potential and compatible dating options. Being data-driven, with selective methodology, majority of users find long-lasting relationships. eHarmony’s goal is for users to learn about themselves and what matters to them in a relationship, discover potential matches, and make meaningful connections with the opportunity to easily communicate and find love. The site offers dating advice and success stories to users of all races, religions, sexualities, and ages.

Hinge:

Hinge, the dating app designed to be deleted, gets users to know potential dates through unique answers to prompts in addition to personal information about topics like religion, height, and politics. Making your personal information public, conversations between matches are easily sparked as every match begins with someone liking or commenting on a part of your profile. Hinge believes in diversity, respect, empathy, and love. With millions of users, having a vast spectrum of backgrounds and beliefs, Hinge focuses on helping their users find real, meaningful connections while creating a community where everyone can find someone to love.

OkCupid:

Similarly to the rest of the dating websites, OkCupid requires users to fill out an in-depth questionnaire about themselves while the app uses that information given to suggest possible compatible options. Notably, OkCupid is the first dating app to introduce 22 gender and 13 orientation options and is the only dating app with thousands of questions to find users the best match.

Tinder:

Tinder’s users vary from looking for causal hookups, potential dates, friendships, or long-term relationships. Users’ profiles are usually limited on personal information, making the matching decision more difficult as it becomes more unclear as to what another match wants. Many users find themselves unsure of a potential matches intention and intimidated to send the first message due to the lack of information. Tinder steers away from labels because the site doesn’t rely on personal information about height, race, or religion to define a person. Users choose who they want to chat with based off of photos, a short biography, and who makes the first move once a match is made. Tinder has adapted to the pandemic by creating a video chat feature for matched users to keep the virtual connection going while staying socially distanced.

Additional dating websites:

With the world going virtual due to the global pandemic, there is not a better time to hop on a dating site to make these socially distanced and isolated times feel less lonely. There are an expansive range of dating websites and app options for people looking for their perfect match; whether it be a casual hookup or a significant date. Not only is there someone for everyone, but there are specific sites for specific partner preferences.

BlackPeopleMeet was designed for African American singles to find love. Grindr is exclusively for LGBTQIA+ individuals to primarily hook up. Plenty of Fish is a Canadian-based site which allows user to communicate globally. Christian Mingle connects likeminded members in search of a God-centered relationship. No matter who you are or the partner and relationship you’re looking for,  there is a dating website to compensate your desire to connect with others.
