  • During your Marriage License Application Appointment with your local courthouse, you will need to bring the following items with you:
  •  Proof of age. (You must be over the age of 18 to apply for a marriage license in Georgia) . Approved items that display proof of age include: “birth certificate, driver’s license, baptismal certificate, certificate of birth registration, selective service card, court record, passport, immigration papers, alien papers, citizenship papers, armed forces discharge papers, armed forces identification card, or hospital admission card containing the full name and date of birth.”
  • Proof of Divorce. If you or your partner are previously divorced, you need to provide the date of divorce. (if you are remarrying within 30 days of your divorce, you must present your divorce decree).
  • Death of prior spouse. If you or your spouse is a widow/widower, you must present the death date of your prior spouse.
  • Payment. At the end of your appointment, your marriage license will cost $56.00. However, if you have completed Dr. D’Arienzo’s Georgia Online Premarital Education Course, the cost of your license will decrease drastically to only $16.00.
