Is your teen not listening? It’s a Milestone!

Don’t give them coal for Christmas if they aren’t listening – they’ve just hit a new developmental milestone!!!

Did you know that it’s healthy for teenagers not to listen to their parents? They’ve actually reached a new developmental milestone. Studies say that when a child becomes a teenager, their brains ignite like crazy when hearing their friends or other adults. But when they’re parents are talking? It’s like they hear the “wah wah wah” of a Charlie Brown school teacher. This allows teens to develop socially and to be able to form connections outside of the family home. So Teens? You have to work extra hard at listening to your parents! And Parents? Stay calm, relaxed, and repeat until your teenager hears you because, congratulations, your teenager has hit a new developmental milestone!

The Teenage Door Slam

Can you even count how many times you slammed the door on your parents as a teenager?!

How soon is too soon?

Everyone’s timeline is different & it all depends on what you’re looking to get out of it, I’m just hear to share the research so you can make a more informed decision!!!

Did you have seggs too soon? Psychologically speaking, jut how soon is too soon? There’s a lot of conflicting research about how long you should wait to have a successful relationship from three dates, to three months, to waiting until you’re married. As a psychologist, I suggest that there should just be two consenting adults that have an emotional connection together. But if you’re looking for a specific timeline, then I would wat at least 1-3 months. You really need to know who the other person is if you’re exchanging bodily fluids. You guys, be BOLD! Honor your own timeline. There are no absolutes here. And for those who are deeply religious, you have your own set of rules to follow.

Seggs on the first date?

Psychological studies show the benefits of not jumping into bed with someone on the first or second date but at the end of the day, all that matters is you honor YOUR own timeline!!!
